POSITION: Associate / Senior Associate Health Litigation (Clinical Negligence – 3+ PQE)

ROLE 

• Manage a caseload of clinical negligence files including drafting detailed reports. 
• Conducting witness interviews. 
• Preparing witness statements. 
• Instructing expert witnesses and counsel. 
• Attending court for Case Management Conferences and hearings. 
• Negotiating settlements. 
• Holding conferences with Counsel. 
• Preparing for and attending trials and mediations. 
• Develop and maintain strong client and internal relationships ensuring compliance with both internal and external protocols. 
• Contribute to business growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. 
• Play an active role in the broader Health business group and the firm, continually seeking ways to enhance processes and outcomes. 
• Provide supervision and mentorship to colleagues, offering guidance through appropriate delegation and coaching. 

REQUIREMENTS 

• A qualified lawyer in England & Wales with a robust understanding of clinical negligence law. 
• 3+ years PQE. 
• Ideally, you will have experience in defendant clinical negligence, although relevant claimant experience will also be considered. 
• Confidence in advising healthcare professionals at all levels on ongoing claims both independently and as part of a collaborative team. 
• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and perform well under pressure. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adhere to guidelines and meet client protocols/KPIs.
