POSITION: Associate / Senior Associate Health Litigation (Clinical Negligence – 3+ PQE)

ROLE
- Manage a caseload of clinical negligence files including drafting detailed reports.
- Conducting witness interviews.
- Preparing witness statements.
- Instructing expert witnesses and counsel.
- Attending court for Case Management Conferences and hearings.
- Negotiating settlements.
- Holding conferences with Counsel.
- Preparing for and attending trials and mediations.
- Develop and maintain strong client and internal relationships ensuring compliance with both internal and external protocols.
- Contribute to business growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Play an active role in the broader Health business group and the firm, continually seeking ways to enhance processes and outcomes.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to colleagues, offering guidance through appropriate delegation and coaching.
REQUIREMENTS
- A qualified lawyer in England & Wales with a robust understanding of clinical negligence law.
- 3+ years PQE.
- Ideally, you will have experience in defendant clinical negligence, although relevant claimant experience will also be considered.
- Confidence in advising healthcare professionals at all levels on ongoing claims both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and perform well under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adhere to guidelines and meet client protocols/KPIs.
