ROLE
- Work on high-value, high-profile disputes across the construction and engineering sectors.
- Handle a variety of contentious matters including adjudications, mediations, arbitrations and litigation in the UK and internationally.
- Advise on complex legal issues arising from major construction and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of lawyers, engineers and consultants to provide tailored solutions for clients.
- Support with project advisory work, helping clients identify and mitigate risks at every stage of construction.
- Gain exposure to industry sectors such as energy, transport and real estate.
REQUIREMENTS
- A qualified solicitor with at least 12 month’s experience in contentious construction law, either during training or post-qualification.
- Proven experience managing or assisting with disputes such as adjudications, mediations, arbitrations or litigation.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts such as JCT, NEC or FIDIC and the disputes arising from them.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to distil complex legal and technical issues into practical solutions.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a client-focused and commercial mindset.
- A proactive individual who thrives under pressure, is detail-oriented and can work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- A genuine interest in the construction and engineering sectors and a desire to develop a long-term career in contentious construction law.
